  • Lead Pastor

Rev. Shannon, Heather, Clara, and Katie Brown

Shannon Brown is the lead pastor of RRCC, which started out as Indian Land Community Church. He grew up in the upstate of SC and is a die hard Clemson fan. He was called to ministry as a teenager and began working in student ministry. While in student ministry, he started organizing youth rallies and concert events. The Lord used this experience to open an opportunity to move to Nashville and work on the business side of the music industry. Before moving to Nashville, he met Heather and the two fell hopelessly in love. They married and moved to TN to start their life together. After about 20 years of working with Christian, pop, and country acts, God called him out of the music industry and back into traditional church ministry. Other than student ministry, he has served as a Small Group Pastor and Associate Pastor since leaving the music business. The Lord has guided Shannon and Heather into church planting and as a result they planted Indian Land Community Church which recently changed its name to River Rock Community Church. Shannon has his Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies and Ministry from LeTourneau University and Master's from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Heather Brown was born in NC and grew up in Valdosta GA. She holds a BA in Psychology from Valdosta State University. Her calling is focused in the marketplace where she is an executive with Ross Dress for Less stores. Throughout her career, God has allowed her to impact the lives of so many people who may not have set foot inside a church or other Christian organization. She knows that her job is her ministry and utilizes every opportunity to show the love of Christ to all God puts in her path. Heather is passionate about small group ministry and has experienced the impact it has on people. When life is lived in relationship, people can be real with each other and face life struggles with support from a loving community. Heather is excited to see what God does next!

  • Student Pastor

Dillon, Abby, and David Diaz (baby Daniel not pictured)

Dillon Diaz serves as Youth Pastor at River Rock Community Church. He is 25 years old, a proud husband to Abby, and father of two boys (David and Daniel). His hobbies include learning about food and culinary arts, listening to KHop music, and watching Stranger Things. Some of his passions are cooking, health & fitness, anime, and engaging with students to help them know and walk in relationship with Jesus every day. When he's not waiting tables, substitute teaching, hanging with the family, or engaging with students in some capacity, you can probably find him at Books-a-Million drinking coffee and working on youth ministry stuff.

Dillon earned his Bachelor's Degree in Practical Ministry from Southeastern University in 2018 and his Master's from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2022. His calling is to serve God by obeying His command to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). Dillon has worked in various restaurants and other businesses for the last 10 years, and God has allowed him to be His witness in unique ways and settings to be an encouragement to others where he lives, learns, works, and plays. Now, as a bivocational youth pastor, he continues to work in the marketplace in order to engage in ministry in the community, and also to provide for his family (1 Cor. 9:12). His goal is to love God with all of his heart and to continue serving Him until the glory and worship of God is everywhere (Romans 1:5).

  • Leadership Philosophy

    • We believe God has put a call and vision in the heart, mind, and soul of those whom He has appointed to be shepherds, elders, and overseers of His people
    • We prayerfully support the leaders God has appointed and encourage them as they prayerfully seek to follow and honor Him through this ministry
